People across the country are one in celebrating Fourth of July as it commemorates our Independence Day as a nation. Families gather for picnics, barbecues and of course, fireworks. Independence Day won't be complete without fireworks, and this is something that you can't miss!

We've rounded up Fourth of July happenings up and down Long Island and the best places to watch the beautiful night sky light up with the awesome fireworks display!


Saturday, July 1

Sag Harbor

Get a head start on a great fireworks display by Grucci at the Sag Harbor on the weekend. Best viewing at Marine Park, Haven’s Beach, and Sag Harbor’s Long Wharf. The show starts at 9:30 PM. 

Sunday, July 2

Orient Harbor

The community is coming together to make sure an Independence Day celebration takes off in a blaze of color and glory in Orient, NY. Enjoy a night of spectacular fireworks by Grucci at The Orient Harbor on Sunday. Show starts at 9:15 PM.

Monday, July 3

Peconic Riverfront

Grab a picnic blanket and some chairs and head over to the Peconic Riverfront, just off Main Street in Riverhead to view a Grucci fireworks show, which is sponsored by the Riverhead Business Improvement District and starts at 9 p.m.

West Beach

The Village of Port Jefferson will kick off the Independence Day celebration on Monday, July 3rd with its annual fireworks display which can be viewed at the Village’s East and West Beaches. The show is limited to Village Residents only. It is scheduled to begin at 9:30 PM.

Tuesday, July 4

Short Beach

Get your camping gear out and head out to Short Beach for a fantastic display of fireworks from Northport over to Bridgeport and possibly even more. 

Note: Permits must be applied for in person at the Smithtown Department of Parks to set up a tent at the beach.

Jones Beach Fireworks

Astoria Bank July 4th fireworks will be held at Jones Beach and will highlight a musical array of patriotic songs. Arrive early to get front row seats and to avoid traffic. Admission is FREE, and parking is at $10. Show starts at 9:30 PM

Grucci Fireworks at Pennysaver Amphitheater

The concert and fireworks at Pennysaver Amphitheater is a family tradition and one of the best places to be on Fourth of July. Just be sure to bring lawn chairs and to get there early to secure a good spot.

Morgan Memorial Park

Enjoy the day with great music provided by The Northwinds Symphonic Band as it kicks off the Independence Day celebration at Morgan Memorial Park, followed by a fireworks show.

Port Jefferson

Wear your colors proud and wave the grand old flag as you walk down Main Street. Celebrate Independence Day at Port Jefferson with their annual Fourth of July Parade. The parade starts at 10 AM.
