1. 2017 Long Island Tennis Challenge

The 2nd Annual Long Island Tennis Challenge will be held at The Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack on Saturday, June 10 (rain date Sunday, June 11). This event is presented by Long Island Tennis Magazine.

The event will include a Men's Doubles Tournament (3.0-3.5 and 4.0-4.5) and a Women's Doubles Tournament (3.0-3.5 and 4.0-4.5) followed by a PRO tournament, featuring some of Long Islands best pros and college players.

The cost to enter the tournament is only $60 per person ($120 per team). With this entry fee, you will start the day with a warm up Tennis Clinic, participate in a fun tournament, enjoy food and drinks and have a chance to see top players from the area and a lot of fun!


2. Jr. Angler Fishing Tournament

Where:      Caleb Smith State Park Preserve, 581 W Jericho Tpke, Smithtown, New York 11787

This fun "Catch & Release" Tournament is sponsored by the Friends of Caleb Smith. It's just $10 per child for Friends Group members and $15 per child for non-members. Prizes will be awarded. Space is limited.

The sessions are as follows:
Ages 5-8 fish from 9:00 - 11:00am
Ages 9-12 fish from 1:00 - 3:00pm

3. Nissequogue River Rally

Featuring canoe rides, a catered barbecue, Italian ices and live music; Maximum three adults per traditional drift-canoe or two adults and two children (12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult); register by June 5


4. Strawberry Festival

Where:      Saint James Episcopal Church, 490 N Country Rd, Saint James, New York 11780

St. James Episcopal Church is having its Annual Strawberry Festival featuring our famous homemade Jams, Baked Goods, Crafts, Jewelry, Plants, Gold Elephant Treasures and "Grandpa's Garage Sale". 

Along with it, we will have our fourth in a series of sales, "BOOKS and THINGS". 

Join us for a fun little shopping spree. Lunch will be served.


5. Butterfly and Bird Wildlife and Craft Fair

When:       Saturday, June 10

Time:         10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Where:      Sweetbriar Nature Center, 62 Eckernkamp Dr, Smithtown, New York 11787

Get ready for a day of Fun and Education at Sweetbriar Nature Center. It is also the grand opening of the new enclosed Butterfly Garden. Along with this exciting event musical entertainment, crafts, games, face painting, animal shows, craft vendors and much more will be offered throughout the day. Food and refreshments are available for purchase.

6. Fetty Wap Performing Live @ Mixx Night Club

7. Wenonah 5k

Wenonah will be hosting a Fun and Fitness 5k Run on June 3 open to parents, teachers, children and the community.

Registration is $20 adults/$10 kids.  Register by May 12 and get a race t-shirt included.  Runners/walkers can register up to the day of the race.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on June 4.  Children’s Fun Run 1K starts at 9:00 a.m., non-competitive, 12 and under.

Run/Walk begins at 9:30 a.m., all ages. The race will start and finish at Wenonah Elementary School in Lake Grove.

The course runs through the surrounding neighborhood.  Trophies for top runner in each division, all children who participate will receive medals, free giveaways and each parent will receive a child identification card.

9. The Drowsy Chaperone

Join us at Star Playhouse's special performance of The Drowsy Chaperone, a mirthful musical spoof about a Broadway show that never was, filled with characters you can't forget.


10. Custom Walking Sticks

Enjoy this unique workshop designing your own walking stick. Sticks, some carving tools, suede and other decorative materials will be provided. If you have your own carving tools and or work gloves please bring them. If the weather is nice we will work outside so don't forget the sunscreen.
