4. Hamptons Youth Triathlon

Join us for the Hamptons Youth Triathlon, an exciting event where proceeds benefit i-tri, an inclusive, community-based program dedicated to fostering self-respect, personal empowerment, self-confidence, positive body image, and healthy lifestyle choices for adolescent girls. Through i-tri, girls train their minds, bodies, and spirits to complete a youth-distance triathlon, using it as a metaphor for life’s journey and gaining the opportunity and tools to achieve seemingly impossible goals. Along their path to the finish line, teens develop strong habits and attitudes that last a lifetime. This empowering program is always free of charge to every participant.

5. Forest Therapy Walk

Where: Bayard Cutting Arboretum, 440 Montauk Hwy., Great River, NY

Join certified forest therapy guide, Linda Lombardo of Wild Heart Nature Connection, on a walk to reconnect with the natural world around us. We’ll slow down, wander and notice what most of the world simply walks past; the beauty of nature in any season. We’ll do some grounding, connect with the trees and water, and even create some nature art together.

6. Second Sunday Castle Tours

When: Sunday, July 14th at 1 PM
Where: Bayside Historical Society, 208 Totten Avenue, Fort Totten, Bayside, NY 11359

Join the Bayside Historical Society staff and volunteers for a captivating guided tour of The Castle and its exhibitions on the second Sunday of each month from 1 PM to 3 PM. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes, with two sessions available: the first starting at 1 PM and the second at 2 PM. These tours are free, but reservations are required. The Castle, completed in 1887, is a prime example of Gothic Revival castellated architecture in New York City. Originally serving as the Officers’ Mess Hall and Club for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers School of Application, it stands as an architectural gem in Bayside, Queens. Come and explore this historical treasure and learn more about its rich history.

7. The Watermelon 5K – East Meadow

When: Sunday, July 14th at 8:30 AM
Where: Eisenhower Park – Field 2, 1899 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, NY

Join us this July for a tasty summer event! Run or walk this 5K at the scenic Eisenhower Park. Enjoy some awesome tasty treats and drinks at the end of the race courtesy of All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water! This race is a part of the USATF-LI Grand Prix; Long Island’s Running Series.  Proceeds benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation; a 501 (c) 3 non-profit that supports athletic and charitable events as they raise awareness and foster community involvement. Never Stop Running Foundation also supports and develops elite athletes at the local, national and international level.
