1. Spring “Dog Days” Weekend & Dog Festival!

As part of our Spring “Dog Days” Weekend, guests are invited to enjoy a scenic spring stroll through the Gardens with their leashed dogs in designated areas. Happening on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., don’t miss our Spring Dog Festival, featuring a curated selection of local pet vendors offering treats, accessories, services, and more for both you and your pup. Please note that dogs must remain leashed at all times and are only permitted in designated areas. Dog access is included with general admission.

2. Farmingdale Ram Run 5K Run/Walk

When: Sunday, April 19th at 8:30 AM
Where: Farmingdale State College, 2350 Broadhollow Rd, Farmingdale, NY

The Health, Wellness, and Nutrition Club proudly presents the 4th Annual Ram Run Food Drive, taking place at the Nold Hall Athletic Complex before the start of the race. Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable or shelf-stable food item to support the FSC Food Pantry and help make a difference in the community. As a token of appreciation, each donor will receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win one of three thoughtfully curated baskets created by the HWN Club. Join us in combining fitness, generosity, and community spirit for a great cause!

3. Spring Family Freshwater Fishing Festival

When: Saturday, April 18th at 10 AM
Where: Belmont Lake State Park, Southern Parkway Exit 38, North Babylon, NY

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s I FISH NY Program and Freshwater Fisheries Unit, invites families to enjoy the annual Spring Family Freshwater Fishing Festival at Belmont Lake State Park on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This fun-filled, rain-or-shine event offers free fishing with loaner rods and bait, hands-on instruction, and fish-cleaning services. Guests can also enjoy a children’s “Spring Fling” casting contest, interactive displays from DEC and State Parks, and a variety of games and activities for kids. As a designated Free Fishing Event, no freshwater fishing license is required for anglers ages 16 and older, and children participating in the casting contest will have the chance to win exciting prizes provided by the I FISH NY Program.

 

 

 


4. Comedy Night at The Castle

When: Saturday, April 18th at 7 PM
Where: Bayside Historical Society, 208 Totten Avenue, Fort Totten, Bayside, NY

Get ready for a fun-filled evening with the Bayside Historical Society at The Castle, featuring a lively night of stand-up comedy from the Wilshire Comedy Group. Guests can enjoy a delicious selection of social small plates and sweet treats (available to view on the website), along with an exciting raffle drawing for a chance to win great prizes. Based in Oakdale, Queens, the Wilshire Comedy Group is known for producing entertaining comedy shows across the tri-state area, and this event will showcase talented performers including Alan Streisfeld, Rosie Fiumara, Zygy Susser, and Eric Tartaglione. 6. 15th Annual All Kids Fair

Treat the kids (and grandkids!) to a fun-filled day at the All Kids Fair on Sunday, April 19, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM at Hilton Long Island/Huntington. This exciting indoor event features over 80 kid-focused exhibitors, plus face painting, balloon twisting, bounce houses, soft play, and a variety of engaging kids’ classes. Little ones can enjoy cotton candy, meet adorable animals at the petting zoo (11 AM – 3 PM), and snap photos on motorcycles or with Star Wars characters. Best of all, everything listed is included with admission! Outside, enjoy food trucks and even a mobile karaoke truck for extra fun.
