This joyful springtime event will feature curated vendors, lavender matchas, face painting, delicious food, live music, and a Drum Circle of Unity and Joy facilitated by Spirit Sky Drum. Enjoy family-friendly fun with a children’s spring costume parade, puppy adoption, flower crown making, a flower bar, a beautiful flower wall for photos, and so much more. Come welcome spring with a day full of color, community, and celebration!
2. Sunday Funday: Baby Shower for Wildlife
When: Sunday, May 3rd at 1 PM
Where: Sweetbriar Nature Center, 62 Eckernkamp Drive, Smithtown, NY

Come celebrate nature as it comes alive in the Spring with beautiful flowers, vibrant green leaves and of course, baby animals. Help us prepare for the busy spring baby season! Hundreds of young wild animals will rely on us for lifesaving care. Your gift during our Wildlife Baby Shower will ensure the smallest animals who need our help — from squirrels and bunnies to hummingbirds and ducklings — get the nourishment and medical care they need to thrive. At the event you will meet some of our ambassador animals and learn about why they are permanent residents at our center.
3. Landing of the Caleb Brewster

Step back in time as the Village of Port Jefferson officially launches its 250th Anniversary celebrations with the signature living-history event, The Landing of the Caleb Brewster, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Harborfront Park. Beginning at 12:00 PM, guests of all ages can experience the sights and sounds of 1776 through militia encampments, live colonial music, and hands-on games. The highlight of the day will be the dramatic shoreline arrival of a full-scale replica of a 1776 armed whaleboat, honoring Port Jefferson’s important role in George Washington’s Culper Spy Ring. This exciting afternoon will bring history to life through an unforgettable journey into the village’s Revolutionary past.
4. Oyster Bay Day Street Fair

Join us for a fun-filled Day in the Hamlet of Oyster Bay at Oyster Bay Day, an exciting all-day street fair celebrating the best of the local community. Hosted by the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Chamber in partnership with the Town of Oyster Bay, this popular event welcomes more than 5,000 visitors and features local businesses, vendors, delicious food trucks, great shops and restaurants, live music, inflatables, mini golf, axe throwing, a deluxe video game truck, and so much more. Bring the whole family—including your four-legged friends—for a day packed with entertainment and something for everyone to enjoy!
5. Dancing with Jane Austen

Step into the elegance of the Regency era during Regency Romance Weekend with a lively beginner-friendly dance class led by dance historian and teacher Susan de Guardiola. Enjoy an engaging hour of period dances inspired by the world of Jane Austen, along with fascinating historical images and stories about Austen as a dancer, the social scene of the Regency ballroom, and how real dances differed from what is often portrayed in film and television. No partner or prior experience is needed—just come ready to have fun and experience the charm of the era.
6. Long Beach Fine Art Expo IV

Discover the vibrant creativity of Long Beach at the Long Beach Fine Art Expo IV, the barrier island’s premier fine art showcase. Held on May 3, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Allegria Hotel’s grand ballroom, this free public event will feature hundreds of works from over 20 talented New York State artists, many of them local to Long Beach. Guests can explore a stunning variety of photography, paintings, and fused glass art, with collections ranging from landscapes and abstracts to still lifes and portraiture.
