1. Art Group Classes

In this expressive art program, students explore a variety of art styles by learning about the lives and techniques of famous artists. Through guided, step-by-step instruction, they create their own unique masterpieces inspired by each artist’s style while working with a wide range of mediums such as watercolor, pencil drawing, pastels, charcoal, and more. Projects change weekly and are process-based and developmentally appropriate, allowing creativity and self-expression to flourish. Support staff are warmly encouraged to join and participate alongside students.
2. Sea Survival Challenge!
When: January 24 - 25
Where: The Whaling Museum & Education Center, 301 Main St, Cold Spring Harbor, NY

Do you have what it takes to survive the open ocean? Set off on an immersive adventure through the museum as you follow the paths of shipwrecked sailors, clever castaways, and daring ocean scientists. Along the way, collect clues, crack puzzles, and test your problem-solving skills before completing your journey by creating your very own Navigator’s Necklace—featuring a working compass to guide the way.
3. Nature Walk at Shu Swamp
When: Saturday, January 24th
Where: Shu Swamp Preserve, Shu Swamp 25 Frost Mill Road, Mill Neck, NY

You’re invited to join us for a Shu Swamp Stroll, a relaxed and engaging walk where curiosity leads the way. Using our nature-awareness skills, we’ll learn, explore, and have fun while deepening our connection to the preserve’s natural beauty and human history. Each stroll is an open-ended, seasonal experience, inspired by what we notice, feel, and discover together along the trail.
4. Chasing the Light
When: Every Saturday and Sunday through January 25
Where: BAFFA Art Gallery, 47 Gillette Avenue, Sayville, NY

The photography of local artists Pat DeLuca, Carol Rosenthal, and Rob Verbeck will be featured in Chasing the Light, an exhibition at the BAFFA Art Gallery this January. The show will be open to the public on weekends from January 10th through January 25th, from Noon to 2:00 PM. Visitors are also invited to attend an artist’s reception on January 10th, held at the Gallery from Noon to 2:00 PM, to meet the photographers and celebrate their work.
5. Saturday Story Time

Join us for Saturday Story Time, a fun and welcoming event for all ages! Settle in to enjoy great stories followed by a creative art activity that brings the tales to life. It’s the perfect way to spend your Saturday—listening, imagining, and creating together.
6. Fearless: The Taylor Swift Experience
When: Sunday, January 25th at 3 PM
Where: The Suffolk, 118 E Main St, Riverhead, NY

Created with exceptional attention to detail and backed by an incredible live band, Fearless delivers the energy, excitement, and authenticity of a true Taylor Swift concert experience. Led by Jennifer Westrip, whose look, mannerisms, and performance style capture the essence of Taylor herself, this show will have Swifties feeling like they’re watching the real thing. Featuring fan-favorite hits such as Shake It Off, Blank Space, Love Story, You Belong With Me, Look What You Made Me Do, I Knew You Were Trouble, and many more, Fearless is a high-energy tribute that celebrates the music fans know and love.
7. Sea Glass Wine Charm Making
When: Sunday, January 25th at 11 AM
Where: Sannino Vineyard, 15975 County Rd 48, Cutchogue, NY

Join us for a creative, seaside-inspired craft experience celebrating the beauty of the sea. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and create four custom wine charms using locally sourced sea glass, with guidance from an instructor every step of the way. Each guest will leave with a set of unique, one-of-a-kind keepsakes—perfect for personalizing your glass and remembering your time on the North Fork. A mug of warm spiced wine is included to enjoy as you create.
