1. Butterfly and Bird Festival

Sweetbriar Nature Center will be hosting its Annual Festival to celebrate the opening of our Butterfly Vivarium. This event draws thousands of visitors every year. The day is filled with wildlife presentations, craft vendors, food trucks, and musical performances.
2. Pottery & Craft Fair

Where: The Brick Studio & Gallery, 2 Flowerfield, St James, NY
Join us for a vibrant event featuring a diverse array of unique, handmade creations, including pottery, oil paintings, wire botanicals, crochet, pastels, cards, jewelry, candles, woodworking, needlecraft, and more! Enjoy live music, delicious food, and exciting raffles throughout the day. Proceeds from our raffles and selected items for sale will support Long Island Cares and World Central Kitchen, helping to make a difference in our community and beyond. 3. Yoga at the Beach: Sunrise Stretch and Gentle Flow
When: Saturday, June 8th at 7 AM
Where: Robert Moses State Park, Field 2, Robert Moses State Park, North Babylon, NY
Begin your day with a peaceful and invigorating yoga experience by joining us for a gentle Hatha flow class, set against the soothing backdrop of ocean waves. This session is carefully designed to stretch and open your body, with poses held for a longer duration of 3-5 breaths to deepen your practice. We will meet in front of the concession stand/comfort station at Field 2; if you arrive late, head straight down to the shoreline and look for us in front of the lifeguard station. Please bring a beach towel, blanket, or sarong, and any props you typically use to enhance your practice.
4. Sound Symphony Orchestra Concert
When: Sunday, June 9th at 2 PM
Where: Comsewogue High School, 565 Bicycle Path, Port Jefferson Station, NY
The Sound Symphony is a unique and exciting orchestra that presents concerts throughout the entire year, performed by members of the community, for the community. Since our founding in 1984, we’ve offered a series of outstanding programs of both classical and contemporary composers. We seek to encourage talented young musicians with our family friendly concert every January and solo competition every May. Come join us for a wonderful performance!
5. Summer Sunday Tea Dance
When: Sunday, June 9th at 4:30 PM
Where: Bay Street Theater, 1 The Long Wharf, Sag Harbor , NY
Each Sunday will feature a different fun theme! The kickoff party on June 9th is Swifty Sunday, featuring Taylor Swift’s most danceable hits! Other Sundays will follow up with Showtune Sundays, featuring classic Broadway hit music and so much more.
6. Dog Tag Run 2.2 Mile
When: Sunday, June 9th at 9 AM
Where: Gardiner Country Park, Manor Lane & Montauk Highway, Bay Shore, NY
Now you can officially register your best friend to cross the finish line with you! All furry “paw”ticipants will receive their own chip timed bib which slides on their collar! For completing the Dog Tag Dog Walk, all pawticipants will receive an Operation VEST bandana and a dog tag. All proceeds raised from the Dog division will go to Paws of War. In an effort to maximize the impact of your donation and pawticipation, Operation VEST will triple the total amount raised! Please keep in mind, pooches are not able to pawticipate without a registered human.For safety reasons and park rules, dogs must be on a 6′ leash at all times.
