3. Old Time Bazaar

Where: Westbury Senior Center, 360 Post Avenue, Westbury, NY

The Westbury Senior Center is having our BIG BAZAAR This is the centers primary fundraiser. Some of our programs are dependent on this event. We are not only having our delicious SAUSAGE & PEPPERS and CHILI; HOMEMADE BAKED GOODS featuring our famous fall Pumpkin Loaf with Cream Cheese with cookies, cakes and pies; KNITTED and CROCHETED ITEMS by our seniors, our MASSIVE USED JEWELRY. We will also have the famous WHITE ELEPHANT ROOM,.

5. Fall Foliage: An En Plein Air Painting Workshop

When: Saturday, October 21st at 10AM
Where: The Atelier at Flowerfield, 2 Flowerfield, Suite 6 & 9, St. James, NY

Painting en plein air, or outdoors, is a pursuit that requires artists to venture out of the studio and into the landscape.  But painting in nature comes with certain challenges unique to the method. Eric will guide students through the entire plein air painting process.  Eric focuses on teaching the principles of painting in simplified terms and includes a deep wealth of art historical knowledge which influences his painting methods and teaching.  Students are welcome to paint in oils and/or watercolor.  Painting in the landscape is a very enjoyable pursuit and all skill levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced. The fee for this 6-hour workshop, with a ½ hour break for lunch, is $150. Materials are NOT included.
